VCF PRIVACY POLICY

The VCF provides individuals with charitable gift annuity administration services, charitable trust administration services, and general financial planning services designed to assist individuals in their philanthropy. In the process of providing these services, The VCF collects nonpublic personal information about individual donors and beneficiaries. In order to comply with the relevant Privacy of Consumer Financial Information rules, the VCF is required by law to provide you with an annual notice of our privacy policy.

We have always protected our donors’ right to privacy in the most stringent manner, and we will continue to abide by our strict code of ethics surrounding donor confidentiality. The purpose of this notice is to inform you of the type of information we collect about you and how we use that information.

We collect the following types of nonpublic personal information about you:

  • Information necessary to set up and maintain your account in connection with providing gift annuity and trust administration services, such as your name, address, social security number, date of birth, account holdings, and electronic banking information.
  • Information about your financial holdings and objectives which is necessary to help you structure your philanthropy in the most appropriate manner.

We disclose your nonpublic personal information only to other companies used to carry out the services we need to properly administer your account, for example, accountants and custodians.

We may disclose nonpublic personal information needed to establish, maintain and update your account in connection with performing administration services, such as your name, address, trust tax ID number, social security number, account holdings and electronic banking information.

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees and service providers (like accountants and custodians) who need to know that information in order for us to carry out our administration services. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.
