Middlebury Unplugged Launches This Week

With funding received through a state grant, the Vermont Community Foundation is launching a three-month energy metering project with 15 downtown businesses this week. Organizers hope this very public and tangible conservation display will set an example for other businesses and residents on how saving energy is not only good for the environment but a true money saver.

Strategic Grant Recipients Gather

Achieving The Dream

Vermont Community Colleges are part of Achieving the Dream: Community Colleges Count, a national initiative to help more community college students succeed. The initiative includes 102 institutions in 22 states. Each college has made a two-year commitment to focus its efforts on closing performance gaps among students in targeted populations.

Foundation Receives $12,000 Grant

The Vermont Community Foundation Green Team received a $12,000 grant from the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources' Vermont Community Change Program to build an eight-month, real- time metering competition in Middlebury. The Foundation predicts the project will save between 5 and 15 percent in energy costs and use.
