Partnership With VPR To Benefit Foodbank
The Burlington Free Press, February 22, 2009

Pledges to VPR will also help Foodbank
Vermont Public Radio and the Vermont Community Foundation, a philanthropic organization in Middlebury, are teaming up for charity
during VPR's upcoming pledge drive.
For every pledge made to VPR during its March membership drive,
the Vermont Community Foundation will make a donation to the
Vermont Foodbank in Barre, according to Felipe Rivera, VCF's vice president for communications.
Each VCF donation to the food bank -- corresponding to a member pledge to VPR -- will provide five meals for Vermonters in need, Rivera said. This amounts to about 6 1/2 pounds of food for every pledge to VPR, no matter the dollar amount of the pledge.
"We have always valued the food bank and we are always looking for opportunities to do something with the many nonprofits that we support," Rivera said. "They provide in our eyes a real critical need to the state. They work really hard to meet what's a real need in the state and we're honored to be able to support them."
